2016, April: France-Australia Cooperation, EHESS-ANU, Pacific network and MSHP project at UPF, Ceremony 'Legion d'Honneur'


At the ceremony held in the Embassy of France in Canberra for conferring the insignia of Knight in the Order of the Legion d'Honneur to Prof. Serge Tcherkezoff, and in the presence of the VCs/DVCs of the Universities of French Polynesia (UPF) and of New Caledonia (UNC), the parties celebrated five years of continuous development of Franco-Australian collaboration between Universities, ANU and EHESS as well as with UPF and UNC. On that day and on the following day, discussions involving UPF President Prof. Eric Conte and UPF Head of International Relations Dr. Leopold Mu Si Yan, with the Ambassador H.E. Christophe Lecourtier and then with ANU VC Prof. Brian Schmidt and his team, have evoked a possible cooperation towards the project of a future regional center of research Maison des Sciences de l'Homme dans le Pacifique to be established at UPF in collaboration with the French National Research Institution (CNRS) and the French national network of MSH
